BARRISTER SONNIE BASSEY, THE MAN WHOSE WIFE DIED IN A CAR CRASH WHILE CHASING HIM AND HIS MISTRESS, GAVE UP THE GHOST IN THE EARLY HOUR’S OF TODAY AFTER A BRIEF ILLNESS
Barrister Sonnie Bassey, the man whose wife died in a car crash while chasing him and his mistress, is dead.
According to reports reaching The Forward News, Bassey who hailed from Akwa Ibom State, went into a coma shortly after the death of his wife and gave up the ghost in the early hours of today.
The late couple left behind two boys and a girl, after a marriage that lasted for 10 years.
The Forward News Correspondences gathered that late Mrs Clara Bassey, a native of Imo State was driving at crazy speed to confront her husband, who wa fleeing with his side chic, identified as Leticia Oden.
Until his death, Sonnie had suffered a stroke and recently recovered, a family source said.
He recounted the action of the deceased after his wife died “Mr Sonnie was remorseful and with tears in his eyes, he knelt beside his dying wife begging the lifeless body for forgiveness and urging her to come back to life and take care of their 3 children.
The source said: “It was at the hospital that the man wailed seriously begging the wife to forgive him, while professing all his love for her, asking her to wake up.”
