Excerpt:
Let’s meet you Sir?
My name is Ambassador Henshell Abolo. I am from Delta state, sapele LGA.
You are a man with diverse knowledge and expertise in various ramifications of life. How did you start gaining skills and which was the first you started?
I started learning skills when i was in secondary school. After my WAEC, i went ahead to learn horticulture and in that same process, i went to a computer school and then gained an admission to the higher institution. The knowledge i acquired from the computer school, i began to use it as a student to help my colleagues in doing assignments and projects which now became a source of income for me in school. After my University days, my NYSC, i came out and decided to work. Then, i gained employment to Mairos rice company where i worked as a project manager which i didn’t study in school but accounting. The knowledge we had when we were growing up, helping people mould blocks, putting that knowledge together, i was able to work with the company. I am still part of the management of that rice mill currently. While working there, i gained the knowledge of crypto and understood its concept from one of my boss. He thought me the psychology about it, i bought into the idea because i know money is more than the physical cash we talk about from my background of accounting i had in school. I educated some of my frineds about crypto and from there we developed our idea of helping people setup business, phone sales through an app. From there i found the need for logistics and delivery .During the covid period, i then developed an app called Korrect foods, then Delta State was known for theft so it didnt see through. After that i came up with a whatsapp system where vendors get connected for people to place theirfood order online. I started this from sapele and then moved to Asaba. From food delivery, we discovered other niches needed ourservices decided and that led to our general deliveries of business products.
Today, we have heard logistics is one of the lucrative businesses to venture into but also comes with its risks, can you enlighten some of the challenges you have had doing this business?
Logistics is the life blood of every business. “No delivery, No business”. The essence of us coming up with logistics is to aid business flow. There is no business with no risk. One of the major risks we have had in the last four years of operations is theft of our motor cycles, or during delivery, when we do payment on delivery, people run fake alert but by the grace of God, we have been able to curb those experiences. Another risk is Not properly disciplined staff, they can avert money to themselves.
Looking at your background, you seem to have a passion for environment, can you tell us about the environmental lifestyle you have seen in ASABA?
I operate everywhere, we send things across the nation and outisde the country. I grew up in Okpanam, we discovered how business is run in Lagos and thought this can also happen in Delta State, Asaba. As at then, Asaba wasnt that ripe but now the rate at which people come into the town for business is laudable. I am into logistics, there are some persons that are based in US but their business is currently in Asaba. I can say the safety of Asaba is encouraging people to come to invest. If we maintain this tempo, Delta state might be the fasted growing state in Nigeria aside Lagos and Port Harcourt.
Crypto guru as you call yourself, over the years lots of persons have lost a lot to crypto currency, can you give an advice to anyone who wants to be a crypto expert as you?
Speaking about loss, there is nothing someone cannot losse money to, the only thing that would make you not loose heavily is knowledge and mentorship. First, money is anything that is generally acceptatble and can be used for means of transaction and at the same time store value. We dont just look at money as a physical cash, naira is just a type of money. Everything that has value must have scam because people cannot trade or scam people with something that does not have value. Crypto is a valuable business, so people can introduce schemes that doesnt really have value to the masses and at the end use it to get their money from them. Investing in crypto should be on asset based currency like bitcoin, etherum. The top 5 coins now have been inception since 2011. The only thing bitcoin can do for you is to give value, it goes up and come down, so if you know it would definitely go up, you can leave it when it drops. All you have to do is to wait. The buying power of any product is what determine the value. So, my advise to people is that they shouldn’t invest in coins that don’t have value or wouldnt last long. The top five coins have value and even if your money falls to 50%, leave it for 2-3 years, your money would come back. One should also know when to enter the market. You don’t enter when everyone is already saying something is up. You enter crypto when crypto is sleeping. For example, i was in Lagos and i said for me to make it big in Lagos, it would take me a lot of resource, then i decided to come back to Delta State. The rate at which im penetrating now in Asaba, I might not penetrate like that in Lagos. One would know when to buy and when to sell. You buy low and sell high.
Over the Years, we have seen some shit coins gain popularity, we would like you to enlighten the people on how to know coins that tends to have perspectives?
As a business person, there are some risk investment you involve your funds while you have main investments where you hedge your capital. Big men hedge their funds in Lands. There are some projects we call shit coins that people dont see potentials in it but when big names like elon musk sees that project, he would want to put money there, now that would attract global investors thereby increasing the volume of the number of users holding that coin which then makes the coin go parabolic.
What can you say about the current political government administration in Delta State?
I want to commend our amiable Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his seamless work. Everyone wants instant result, but for us business owners we don’t believe in instant result but lasting result. Any government that enter power must take out time to plan and that our governor have done. Placing both young and old in the government administration. In the last four months, we have had inuaugration of projects and the kind of projects tells us that the governor has taste. Seeing his investment in the youths through the job creation ministry. Looking currently at how the ministry of environment, the person of Hon. Jamani Tommy Ejiro who is going about and senesitizing the people for a cleaner delta, mandating them to know the enviroment belongs to them of which he has had total compliance from the people. This is not the era to sit at home on enivronmental issues. So, the governor is doing very well. Also, the science and technology is not left behind. We went for a program in the federal capital city on AI and we came third positon. The money of the govenment might not be in the streets but it is in the projects and given to the right set of people. I would give the governor a 100% for job well done.
Where do you see yourself in the next 3 years?
We have always been a dreamer and would never stop dreaming. In the next 3 years, first i want my brands to be one of the known brands in logistics and in the world, i also want to be among the technocrats in Delta state, talking about people who have changed and transformed lives. We want Korrect Logistics to be one of the best Logistics provider in the coming years.
What’s your advice to young youths who wish to follow your foot path doing various businesses?
People would always say for you to start up a business, you need capital which is okay. But the only capital i see is yourself. I said earlier how i acquired basic knowledge of some certain things. Anyone who wants to venture into a business should first of all learn the art of that business. If you dont have the physical capital to do it, plug into the people who are doing it, understand their strategy, umderstand their lapses, then from the money you are making, use it to build yours. Nothing big in this world started big. Aliko Dangote started from zero, personally i am here, i didn’t start like this. I started from my own compound then, when i would send people on errands and then i thought of making it a business. Everybody whould be diligent. Not everyone is bound to have their own business, some are meant to be encouragers to the CEO. A CEO is someone that is responsible, meaning you take responsibility for any good or bad that comes your way, you accept it. I dont really see anything as failure in business, because i treat failures as lessons and experience. So, young ones who wants to venture into any business should start from themselves. One can start a business without cash but cant start without money. Money is anything given to exchange value for value. So when you meet people and say i have an idea, if the people buy it, they’ll give you physical cash. The capital any young person needs is themselves, make that business acceptable to people, then start from somewhere, you don’t need to be rich before you start. Alot of big men are looking for consistent youths to put in their money. Strive to have integrity, start small, read books about your industry.
Considering the current economic situation in the country, can you tell us how it has impacted your business?
When Tinubu government came on board, alot of persons out there stopped buying food which used to be one of our major areas. we needed to diversify. For instance, people no more travel all the time, they now buy things online. We then had to integrate e-commerce into our business. In fact i have even expanded more in this era, one thing you should know is that inflation doesnt really affect business because the buying power is added to the business. Before, delivery used to be five hundre naira but now it has increased.
During the end of last year 2024, you had a few philanthropic acts, what prompted you into that direction?
I have been a giver from my young age, i promote something nice, the little i have i share. Giving is of the heart and not of the abundance. During Covid, i was one of the anonymous that started giving in Sapele. Giving is my lifestyle, while in school, i gave out knowledge free to my colleagues. What prompted me to give during the last december, i needed to appreciate a lot of my consistent customers and also the public. It has been my norm to give to people as long as i have the capacity.
What are your top 3 life mantras?
Persistence, Integrity, solving problem of man is the surest way for wealth creation.
