BREAKING NEWS: BOLA AHMED TINUBU SWORN IN AS NIGERIAS PRESIDENT

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former Lagos State Governor, was inaugurated as Nigeria’s President on May 29, 2023. The ceremony took place in the nation’s capital city, Abuja, at the Eagle Square. The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, administered the oath of office to Tinubu and his deputy, Kashim Shettima, at exactly 10:28am and 10:38am, respectively.

Tinubu’s swearing-in ceremony was witnessed by his predecessors, including Muhammadu Buhari and Goodluck Jonathan. Tinubu’s wife, Remi; Shettima’s wife, Nana; and Buhari’s wife, Aisha, were also present at the ceremony.

Several African leaders, including the new Prime Minister of Gabon, Billy By-Nze, President of the Republic of Cote D’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara, Ghana President, Nana Akufo-Addo, and Rwanda President, Paul Kagame, also witnessed the historic event at the venue, which was beautifully decorated with the green-white-green colors of the nation.

In addition to the African leaders, several dignitaries were present at the inauguration ground, including Akinwumi Adesina, Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, Abdulsamad Rabiu, and Jim Ovia. The ceremony was also attended by service chiefs, heads of security agencies, governors, former governors, serving and former ministers, as well as chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The swearing-in of Tinubu, who is 71 years old, marks a new era in Nigeria’s political landscape. Nigerians have high expectations for Tinubu’s administration, and he has promised to tackle the country’s most pressing issues, including corruption, insecurity, and unemployment. As Nigeria’s new President, Tinubu will face several challenges, but he has expressed his commitment to delivering on his promises to the Nigerian people.
