Delta STATE POLICE COMMAND KILL ONE FLEEING BANDITS, ARRESTED TWO, RESPONSIBLE For Killing THREE POLICEMEN AT OLEY ROUNDABOUT DURING THE STOP AND SEARCH DUTY

Following the attack on Police operatives from the Dragon Patrol team on 23/7/2023, a distressing incident in which two officers lost their lives and their patrol vehicle was set ablaze by suspected bandits during a routine stop and search duty at Oleh roundabout, Commissioner of Police for Delta State, CP Wale Abass, took swift action. He immediately assembled a joint team of Policemen from the Ozoro Area command and the Dragon Patrol, along with the support of Nigerian Army’s 63 Brigade and local vigilantes, to apprehend the attackers.

The combined team acted promptly and engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun battle. Despite the resistance, they managed to overpower the criminals, who eventually fled into the nearby bush, carrying gunshot wounds.

During their pursuit, the team followed a trail of blood leading to a river where they made a significant discovery – one AK-47 rifle was recovered on the same day as the incident.

The response team maintained their momentum and continued their operation on 24/7/2023. Relying on credible intelligence, they ventured into the Erewa community bush in Isoko North LGA. There, they encountered the remaining bandits and engaged them in another intense gunfight.

The team succeeded in neutralizing one of the criminals and apprehended two others.

Moreover, they recovered two additional AK-47 rifles, one Assault rifle, four magazines, and twelve 7.62 AK-47 ammunition during the operation. The pursuit of other members of the syndicate remains ongoing.

Commissioner of Police Wale Abass psc assures the residents of Delta State that the Police Command will persist in the fight against crime and criminality.
