DRID ASSURES TO PARTNER WITH ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY NEWSPAPERS PUBLISHERS OF NIGERIA (ACNPN)
...... SAYING FOR THE PURPOSE OF GRASS ROOT REPORTAGE TO ENSURES THE SUCCESS OF GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI'S MORE AGENDA IN THE STATE.
The Honourable Commissioner, Directorate of Riverine Infrastructural Development (DRID) chief Ebikeme Clark has called on members of the Association of Community Newspapers publishers of Nigeria (ACNPN) to be objective in their reportage.
He made the call when members of the Association paid him a courtesy call at his office in Asaba, Delta State.
While saying that the media is the engine room for publicity, he added that without the media, the people would be in darkness, urging them (Media) to carry out proper investigation before going to the press.
DRID boss lauded the state governor, elder Sheriff Oborevwori, for his initiative of creating the Directorate, stating that there would be huge construction in the riverine areas in no distant time, to enable the people in the localities feel government presence more in line with the MORE agenda of Oborevwori’s administration.
He said DRID would partner with Community newspapers publishers for the purpose of grass root reportage, saying that they should give adequate publicity to Governor Oborevwori’s administration to ensure the success of his MORE agenda in the state.
Earlier in his address, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community newspapers, Prince Orhomonokpaye who led the members on the visit said they were in the Commissioner’s office to identify with the Directorate and equally congratulate him on his appointment.
He described Chief Ebikeme Clark as a vibrant politician that has served the state in different capacities, adding that he is a square peg in a square hole.
