OBOREVWORI COMMISSIONS PROJECTS IN PATANI LGA
The Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has charged communities where government projects are sited to maintain them in order to enjoy the full benefits of such capital development in line with the MORE Agenda. Represented by Hon. Kelly Pinawou, Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs on the 22day of February 2024 at Patani LGA.
Oborevworimade the call during the commissioning of some projects executed / build under the administration of the Chairman of Patani Local Government Council, Hon. Isaac Aguanah, said that it was the responsibility of such communities to ensure adequate maintenance of such projects.
“It is not enough for government to execute these projects in your area, it is important that you maintain them, protect them because you are the greatest beneficiaries of these projects, Governor said.
Thee projects commissioned by the governor in Patani local government area include: A Modern Area Customary Court Building, A Newly Reconstructed/Renovated Office Building In Council Secretariat, A Newly Constructed N.Y.S.C Administration Block, Bulu-Angiama Rigid Pavement Road, Bulu-Angiama Town Hall, Box Culvert At Toru-Angiama (Site Seeing), Rigid Pavement Road In Council Secretariat (Site Seeing), Rigid Pavement Road At Aven (Site Seeing), Rigid Pavement Road At Kolowari (Site Seeing), Dredging Of Bulu-Angiama Canal (Site Seeing). All projects fully executed, completed and paid.
Thegovernor said that the maintenance of government executed projects was key to its sustenance for the benefits of the communities. He said the lack of maintenance culture by some communities had hindered the full usage and longevity of such projects as the people don’t enjoy the purpose of citing such projects in their towns. Oborevwori advised communities to remain peaceful and support his administration’s MORE agenda.The governor commended the Chairman of Patani local government Council for embarking on projects based on the need assessment of the communities adding that the people were happy with him.The Delta State Governor, Rt. Kelly Pinawou, Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs, were executed by his Royal Majestic king (peremobowei) Shadrack Erebulu Aduo 111 of kabowei kingdom, Chief Comrade Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu Jp, The chairman Taskforce on environment , the magistrate judge of the customary court, The Education Secretary, Patani LGA Hon Agboro Bright and among others, attended the ceremonies.
