PLateau State APC Tasks Governor Mutfwang On Judicious Use Of N26 Billion NG-Care Intervention Fund

All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State has tasked the Governor Caleb Mutfwang administration to use the N26 billion NG-CARES intervention fund it received from the World Bank judiciously.According to a statement signed by the State APC acting publicity secretary, Alhaji Shittu Bamaiyi, the state got the whopping sum of over N26 billion from the federal government as the N-CARES intervention fund from the World Bank a few days ago.

The party, which said the PDP government in Plateau State is now leveraging the legacy of the Lalong administration without sweat, said the money released by the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning was the reimbursement of the money earlier invested by some state governments with the assistance of the World Bank to improve the living standards of their people. Undisputably, the Lalong administration in 2021 set up the N-CARES and paid about $2 billion as the counterpart funds before the Mutfwang administration accessed the $26 billion from the World Bank.

“It is therefore cheering news and kudos to the Lalong administration for its foresight and wisdom in making the succeeding Mutfwang government capitalize on, in the face of excruciating economic challenges and also an infrastructure deficit in the state. There is no doubt that government is a continuum, and what is of utmost concern is the level of preparedness and willingness on the part of the power that be to consolidate on the gains recorded for the socio-economic development of the state. At this material time, it behoves the PDP-led government to judiciously and conscientiously use the money in achieving the objective, for which the Lalong administration initiated the programme.

”It added that such can only be achieved if the Plateau State government goes beyond partisanship in fashioning out the deliverables that would improve the lots of the people of the state.

The APC further averred that the PDP government owes the people a responsibility in the spirit of accountability and transparency to speak out on its intention on the #26 billion NG-CARES and the purchase of the official vehicles with N3.6 billion in the first quarter of 2024.
