POCACOV ACKNOWLEDGED TAEKWONDO SPORTS ON 2OTH ANNIVERSARY, RECOUNT THE SPORTS AS A VERITABLE GIMMICK TO IMPROVE OUR CHILDREN TO BURGEON
The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) has congratulated all Taekwondo Practitioners on the occassion of the celebration of World Taekwondo Day 2022 usually set aside to mark the 20th anniversary of Taekwondo Sports Olympic debut at Sydney 2000.This was made known by the National Coordinator police Campaign Against Cultism and Other vices (POCACOV) CSP Ebere Amaraizu and also Chairman ,Enugu state Taekwondo Association while reacting on the essence of the the day to taekwondo practitioners and also the veritable elements of Taekwondo beyond sports.
According to Amaraizu who also is an Olympic Solidarity Sports Administrator and Sports Coach ,the importance of Taekwondo cannot be overemphasized especially on our young minds.Taekwondo is a way of life and it is attitudinal and very good to them as it teaches them Perseverance which helps them to build resilience as prospective champions and leaders.Then the spirit of making making mistake and growing from the mistake which is also needed by parents under sports parenting.
He Stated further that in Taekwondo there lies Survival Skills opportunities especially for girl child Gender,Modesty ,Indomitable Spirirt,Self Control,Integrity amongst others .We have identified these tenets hence POCACOV strong partnership with Taekwondo Association Under Our Children Must thrive Campaign using the instrumentality of Community/Rural Sports in line with the community oriented policing framework of the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Usman Alkali Baba,Psc(+),Fdc,NPM for a safe,peaceful and functional community.Amaraizu further highlighted that through the application of Taekwondo Tenets that POCACOV has changed a lot of their mindsets and build resilience amongst them and a lot of them are now looking forward for Olympic moment.
He used the occassion to call on stakeholders and Multi Agencies to invest on community /Rural Sports to enable self discoveries of young fresh talents from communities and to help transmit olympic Education and Values of sports cutting across Respect,Friendship and Excellence for a functional community.
