RIVERS STATE- OKEZIE IKPEAZU, DAVE UMAHI, PROF BEN AYADE VISIT WIKE IN PORTHARCOURT Harcourt
RIVERS State Governor Nyesiom Wike hosted his colleagues from Cross River (Prof. Ben Ayade); Ebonyi (Dave Umahi) and Abia (Okezie Ikpeazu), last night at his Rumueprikon country home, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, Port Harcourt.
A source, who confirmed the arrival of the governors, said they quickly went into a closed door meeting. The source, who spoke in confidence, did not give details on their parley.
Ikpeazu is one of the five governors in Wike’s camp fighting structural injustice in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Ayade and Umahi are of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
It was learnt that the mission of the two governors was in connection with the crisis rocking the opposition PDP.
Ayade and Wike were meeting for the first time since the duo fell Apart and exchanged words following irreconcilable differences in the PDP before Ayade joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
There were indications that Ayade and Umahi came to seek Wike’s support in Rivers for the forthcoming presidential election.
Wike and his allies had vowed not to work for their presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, over unresolved issues bordering injustice and unfairness.
They are demanding that Dr. Iyorchia Ayu should step aside as National Chairman of the party.
